Default dB level for silenced track days.

I'm basically looking for someone who has a similar system to myself for a rough dB level as I'm attending a track day in the future.

Mines a 2.5" system, full decat with a ninja 2 back box.

The limit on the day is 98dB but without a dB meter I have no way of telling what mine is running.

Cheers chaps.

Catted systems have problems with db levels so you can imagine what a decat will do to you! as said, phone app but you will probably be well over 100db tbh.

You will definately be over 98 with a full decat ninja. You can get baffles for the end of some systems but unsure a bout ninjas as they have dustbin size exists iirc

My guess would 105db

Bu i all depends if it s standing measuremen or a passing by measurement

I am aware of the mobile app meters but there not the best, I do have a bung for it which I could give a go. Didn't realise silenced systems had trouble passing to! Will have to pop down to a friend of friends garage who I think might have one. He's recently bought a classic with a straight through system, not sure what size but he's getting 97dB. I'll have to investigate further.

I've got a full 3" revoloution system on my track car I got static tested at Cadwell and was 95 db, went to Mallory park and was tested at 97db, all depends on equipment if properly calibrated , but think the ninja will come in well over 100 , be prepared to forfeit the day if to loud where are you at?

Well not paid up just yet, meant to be at donnington. I'll try and source a meter in the next day or so, dig out that bung to.

Just so you know Donnington is an active metered track.

Means there is no static noise test, they let you straight out on track and monitor at various points around the circuit. If you go over the 98db hey give you a warning to make it quieter or thats the end of your day.

I was there recently and i have a de-catted miltek which hit 99.6db, where on static at snetterton only measured 96db, so yours may well be over that too.

Either get yourself a bung or if you can run lower boost, i was fortunate enough that i was able to run my lower boost map and change up at 5k rpm, so the day wasnt a total loss for me, although not the most exciting when not being able to use the full potential of the car

Decided to cancel it for the time being, not worth the hit on the pocket. Been thinking about changing back boxes for a while now, was going to go down the milltek route also but if that has problems passing then I might have to reconsider.

I downloaded a free db app and it is pretty bang on db wise (compared side by side with a proper one)

Does anyone know how they measure db, distance rpm etc????
