no local subaru garage grrr
im actively looking at buying a new scoob, but theres no local dealers around to view / test a car etc one dealer we went to promised to get back to us when they managed to get a wrx or sti moved from another dealer, and aint herd nothing from them in a couple of months, so i dont see why i should chase up the garage, as surely they should be doing what they can to help me as were not talking £10 lol
there was a good dealer in bristol, but there no longer a dealer for subaru any more? i just find that subaru are making it difficult for people to buy a car from them?
maybe il buy a new evo as theres plenty of mitsi dealers about here!

Vale Motors in Wincanton.
It's where my car was supplied from when new and I have also bought spares from them, but have had them delivered rather than collect myself!

Prices are keener up north
well worth a tank of fuel and you would have a fantastic Drive back via the lakes and Lancashire
Proper roads
Relatively traffic free
Corners
Proper driving roads
Communication can be done by telephone and emails before a visit up here
Many people travel long distances to get the car ,service and the prices they desire

Well the car isn't really for me it's for my wife as I will still have mine (well 3 lol) but she wants a new car as the civic is comming up to 3 years old and Hopfuly we can get a new impreza, but she hasn't really looked at a hatch or driven one etc so really wanted to go to a dealer, have a chat and see what options are about, let the mrs have a drive and see if she likes it and go from there really, the chap in Swindon we went to see never got back to us and didn't have a impreza to show us and Cirencester dealer didn't have a impreza either to show us only legacys etc
It's ok for a die hard impreza fan like myself as I will hunt for one and travel to see one, but some one who's interested in buying one then looks and finds out the nearest dealer is 40+ miles away there just not going to bother surely?
Just think that Subaru seem to be loosing dealers rather than opening new ones etc but I suppose that's a sign of the times, saying that tho ford have just opened two new show rooms lol

These people make me laugh.Probably the second most money you will spend after buying a house & they can't be bothered to call you.
I would visit the dealer without mentioning your previous contact with them.
Show interest in the most expensive car on the lot & act like a dummy & just say you want it without haggling & have the money.Just be the perfect customer.
When it comes to signing on the dotted line ,turn around & say
'That's funny.You didn't want my money 2 months ago!!'
Then get up & walk away.

I had no luck up north 3 years ago when buying my Legacy, tight as a knats **** dealers were, even though it was the older mkiv model; don`t doubt that Palmers is that rarity as a good dealer, but it`s a dull drive up there, and he`s got Wales and the West country right next to him, so I don`t think he is short of good roads to drive on. I`ll be surprised if any Subaru dealer is going to offer an amazing deal at the moment, but I am happy to be proved wrong. As I have mentioned before, I have not had the best service down here, having instigated a corrosion warranty claim 2 years ago, reminded them 1 year ago, only to find they have shut down with no warning this year. The Swindon dealer is now handling it, as they sold it to me ( they offered the best price) but I am not getting my hopes up. Corrosion is on all alloys, roof bar bolts, interior drivers seat rail bolts, and that`s just what I can see. It`s made me a bit cynical, sorry. Great car otherwise. 170 mile round journey to Swindon, fastest route.

It was; have you had a similar experience, as Meadens, the owners, promised me that they had contacted all their customers to inform them that they were shutting. Having said that, they also said that they would process the claim, and did nothing. Not sure that I would bother buying a Skoda from Meadens of Sway as a result.

I went there to ask them a minor technical question about my car and realised that there were no longer any Subaru's in the showroom and asked one of the staff why? I was told that they were no longer selling any new cars and that they were effectively just a second hand car lot, selling any marque, but would still be able to supply parts and service Subaru vehicles.
Not mine they ain't!

They stopped selling Subarus some time ago because IM insisted that they buy more models than they could sell; this was at least a year and a half ago. They remained a Subaru service agent until some point this summer, and then sold up and couldn`t be arsed to inform their loyal customers about it.
