Winter Tyres
Hi,
I'm going to put my winter wheels and tyres on this morning. Should I put the best ones on the front or the back?
Cheers,
Dan

I'd personally put the best on the back, rather see where I was crashing than go in backwards.......Actually thinking about that going in backwards there would be more car between me and the object.....

60% of braking is done from the front...
but the question on a 4WD car should be why do you have different on the front/back??
I think remember reading, I think it was in a handbook, either in the WRX or the Forester it says that the preasure and tread depth front to rear shouldnt be too different as it wears the centre diff.
If you mean the tyres are about the same, but different quality... in the winter this also is not so great... you might find your backside trying to overtake you in a corner.

Conventional wisdom is to put the best ones on the back.
People are supposed to be better at dealing with understeer than oversteer.
However, as the tyres wear more on the front than back, rotation of tyres will mean that the opposite occurs and that least worn tyres will be moved to the front.
Go figure.
