Default classic key replacement

I have lost my spare key for my 99 UK turbo, can anyone tell me if they are chipped or not .Thanks

Mines not chipped i know cause i brought Newer type Key with rubber casing and had it cut by my local Key shop and it works fine... 2001 P1 impreza

They are 100% chipped. A P1 should also be too. Its just the imports that are not.

Getting a replacement could be costly.

As above, BOTH the keys for my UK 98 car are chipped.

Replacement when one wore out two years ago was £80, and they won't even order unless you go in with the V5 and two forms of ID.

Just spoke to my mate who also has a P1 impreza and he says Not Chipped cause his spare master Key looks like your home door Key all metal and totally Flat but starts the car

My00 classic keys are chipped, got one cut at timsons. 2 for £75 or 1 for £50.

That sounds just like the key you get on an import, a Type R for example.
Shouldn't have that on a UK car.

I got my spare from here. My local key cutter said he can copy the code and cut it for around £30. I haven't done it yet as I just grabbed a steal - de cat mid pipe. Lol

MY99 uk is not chipped, it should have an alarm fob, well mine hasn't, and i have had it's since new.
