Default Are JDM PowerFold mirrors heated?

Hi guys,

I've got a set of JDM PowerFold mirrors that I'm going to install on my Blobeye STi, but just had a thought. Are these mirrors heated? I've got a sneaky suspicion that they aren't.

I'd rather have heated mirrors than folding mirrors...

Anyone know if the JDM got heated mirrors?

My 2003 Blobeye STi has heated mirrors, it's a Euro Spec. If th jdm ones aren't heated then I'm not going to bother fitting, I live in rainy Scotland and demisting mirrors are very useful, unfortunately..

My Spec D ones don't fold, but they are plain glass and heated via the heated rear window switch.

Just put your rear demister on and feel your door mirror glass to know for sure

I was gonna buy some folding ones a while back but thankfully found out they`re not heated so didn`t bother

I have a jdm my05 and can confirm mirrors are folding but not heated. Maybe if you fit uk glass in jdm mirrors you can get both working

Cheers guys, they're coming off now, rather have heated than folding. Maybe worth trying to fit UK glass in JDM mirror if shape is same, I'll check...

you also need the switch and they are not plug and play and will require extra wiring.
on 05 cars the switch is on door panel.
pre 05 its in centre console.
so you need corrext switch too

I've got the switch, and happy doing the wiring. How can you tell if they are heated or not without removing the glass? Presumably extra wires? The wiring wrap on mine, drivers side was brown, passenger side was blue and they both had different plugs. ?????

Anyone know how many wires on per and post 03?

Can I add the heated glass to my existing mirrors and wire in to maybe a switched source for when I want them on, or could I wire them off the same source as the demister as standard if I got them?

The entire point about the folding mirrors is that they dont get frost on them in the first place because they are folded in
Why then do you need to heat them?

Tony

HTH.
its the bugeye versions that are heated and folding not the blobeye ones.

heres a pic of my mirrors (only on i have sorry) you will see they are a slightly different design to the blobeye but fit no problem.

you will also need to wire them in and get a jdm door switch with the door panel to fit it into on the 05 on or just a different switch on the pre facelift models where the switch is in the centre console.

i can tell you 100% the ones i have are heated and floding and are from a 2002 bugeye sti jdm model, as said before the jdm blobs are only folding.

the above advice is from someone who HAS done the mod to a uk car
