The mileage as I parked up at home yesterday morning, due yet another oil change

MY97 DIY Prodrive, still on original very slappy engine, but for how much longer?

You ought to hear it start on really cold mornings, it's embarrassing. Everyone who hears it is convinced it's about to throw a rod, including me sometimes. Been doing it since I bought it at 90,000 miles, sounds (and goes) fine when it is warmed up.

It's eaten two gearboxes in my ownership!

Countless tyres and the brakes only last ten minutes too.

Just shows they can forever if treated right. Decent fuel and oil with plenty of changes and they're not bad old barges.

A mate of mine recently got rid of a Mercedes automatic coupe with 350+ miles on it. Only got rid because the box let go.

There was a UK turbo, may have been a Series McRae, at the NBO last year IIRC, that had over 200K on it.

Long as the engines are looked after, regular services, oil changes etc, most engines will just keep on going!

My '97 Turbo 2000 is on 137k and still pulls like a train. With regular oil changes and maintainance, if it lasts me another 63k i'll be happy.
