Default Exhaust gasket ring

Hi guys fitted a catback exhaust today bloody thing is leaking around where it joins to the cat do i need a new doughnut gasket or would it be worth putting a load of jointing paste around it and does anyone know how much a subaru dealer charges for them as i need one asap?

Yeah i seen them on ebay at that kinda price need it sorted before next week going to phone local dealer see how much they charge and if they stock them no doubt they charge **** loads i was thinking of putting firegum around the joint to see if that will sort it anyone else gone down the route

I changed mine this week when fitting a new exhaust but the old one didn't look too bad. Can you not just do the bolts up tighter?

Oh right did you the one on mine didnt look to bad either i reckon if i tried tightening them even more they would shear off :-(

update managed to get it sealed around the flange only for it to be leaking from the bolts at the back where the springs are cant i just put normal nuts and bolts on it

If you have spring bolts they are normally there to allow the flex in the exhaust as if you take them off and whack them up with nuts and bolts, if you we're to get a bit spirited with the clutch then there is no give in the exhaust and can cause it to snap, crack, fracture etc

Thanks for the info i did wonder what the springs were for bloody annoying ive run out of ideas on how to get a gas tight seal around them any help would be appreciated as im rather fed up at with it at the moment
