Default Cast rods n pistons. How much power?

Got a wrx type r, it's got cast rods and I presume cast pistons. Its got an sti v6 crank but wondering how much power these rods n pistons can take? Wanna get to around the 400 mark? Engines currently as a long engine now so if I need to change them nows the time defo no more than 400hp. Probs run it about 380. Cheers

Well you dont have the right components, rods are good to around 350bhp give or take 20 or so, depends on the engine really, so for a full rebuild and everything else you need to upgrade, say 10k give or take a few hundred quid

I personally think even 330bhp is on borrowed time, your gonna need to do some serious engine work for a reliable 400bhp buddy, either that or a newage STI short motor.

Yea I think 320 330 on a wrx motor. My v3 tyre r still hanging in there at 380 bhp 360 ft lb standard Dccd box and v3 Sti engine . Boosting at 1.5 on a sc40 billet

Much stronger engine in your car though buddy. Harvey believes they are good for well over 400bhp, I'm a little sceptical of that but hey, what do I know..
