GT-R brakes on an Impreza
I really like the brembo 6 pots on the R35 GT-R.
Anyone know if they can be made to fit an Impreza?
I think they're 380mm discs, perhaps we could use 355 mm discs for the scooby?

Anything is possible, though your probably best speaking to ian at Godspeed. I think the cost will be a major factor, why not go for AP 6 pots? Their as good as anything out there.
There are some good kits out there, no question (Porsche and AP seem to be about the best).
Somehow the GTR brakes just suit the impreza though. Correct colour, correct brand, etc. Plus there's a good chance to get some second hand units from the GT-R community (many of them upgrade to Endless and other brands).

If I'm totally honest, I want the Brembo monobloc kit from the RA-R (who doesn't).
However, it's about £3k from Japan parts, a little out of my budget right now.
So I'm trying to find some other options. It seems the Merc SL55 AMG uses the exact same calipers, wonder if I could find some of them used and get Godspeed to sort out some brackets and discs.

We have a lot of people sending in there own calipers for us to make up discs bells and brackets so wouldn't be a problem , your wheels will dictate the disc size , the 380mm discs would need 19" wheels , as a guide your looking at up to 335mm for 17's and up to 365mm discs for 18" wheels

GTR brakes on a GTR feel like the smaller diameter AP 6 pots on a Subarishi of lighter weight with sticky tyres, but the discs do crack in track use and are not cheap, so I wouldn't particularly copy the setup unless you have a set you need to use. It maybe that they feel more awesome on the lighter car though and don't crack.
Went to have a look at the D2 8 pot brake kit today.
It looks like a nice piece of kit, but interestingly, the surface area of the pads on the brembos is actually greater than the D2's.
Surely for the D2's to perform any better than the brembos they'd need a far greater pad surface area?!
The brembos pads are 130mm x 62mm, but the D2's are 138 x 48. I think the Porsche 6 pots from Powerstation are around 190 x 80.

Took Ian my winter 16" OEM 5 spoke wheels and some Porsche monobloc calipers.
I'm sure it would have been easier, if I'd managed to find the brembo GT calipers, Ian originally suggested.
But, I now know he enjoys a challenge!

We are using on our K-Sport pads which are originally for AP 6pots and they will fit just perfectly

Calipers are 996 351 425 & 996 351 426 (Don't mix them up with the 352's, which are rears and have smaller pistons 28/30mm)
Pistons are 36/40mm. Pads are 121mm x 90mm
I don't think the caliper would go bigger than a 330mm disc, with std shape pads and a 17" minimum wheel. For 16" 308/310mm?

Just out of interest this image shows Porsche 4pot front pads.
The one on the left is 996 non turbo/boxster s. That's the pad for the 996 351 425/426 front calipers.

I got hold of a set of Porsche brakes (the Powerstation kit) used. Just need some wheels now...
I have a 2006 Spec C and I found the standard gold brembos pretty good. With SS hoses, AP600 fluid and standard discs they put up with reasonable track use, but after 5-6 laps they would start to fade and had a tendancy to boil the fluid after about 8 laps of heavy use. I'm hoping the Porsche 6 pots will offer a whole new level of performance and endurance.
Your set up sounds very nice too though, Porsche 4 pots on a classic should be more than enough.
