Default Car feels like it's holding back???

Just had an sti 8 bottom end with genuine p1 heads put in my 99 sti running vf34 fmic 440,s hks mushroom filter total decat and uprated headers and 290 lph fuel pump with a fpr fitted thing is when I first got car back other day it was absolutely rapid but for some reason it now feels like it's holding back a lot. Sounds daft but my blitz nur spec r even sounds quieter! Anyone have any ideas as to why this could be happening??? I'm not simply imagining it and am not used to the power already there is definately something a miss all help appreciated!

It seems to make boost target and am just waiting on it getting mapped
I'm not abusing it or anything but it's just really noticeable when overtaking that it's no where near as quick as it was when I first picked it up and as said even blitz nur spec r sounds really quiet!?

Hold up.....

So you've not had it mapped at all ???

So what ECU is in the car, the one from before all these modifications were fitted ?

This doesn't sound good Zippy.

If you were hooning it around with all those modifications and it felt rapid, I'm not surprised. It was probably boosting too much or leaning/detting all over the place. and now it feels like it's holding back? I'm assuming the poor bloody ECU is trying it's best to retard everything and stop you melting your engine fella

I don't mean to sound harsh as I know you have a lot going on privately but if the above is accurate, you are doing yourself no favours here by not having the car mapped ASAP!!!

How long have you been thrashing around in a modified unmapped car ?
I only hope you haven't already done some irreversible damage.

im shocked...........my car ran like a bag of nails when i decatted it and fitted fmic.
i was waiting a few weeks for a remap.

i only drove it a couple of times off boost to check all was ok and boost it up a couple of times to check for boost leaks etc but it was so laggy and horrible.

now its been mapped it so much better and im happy that the engine wont destroy itself

get it mapped asap and drive off bosst in the mean time

That was probably the front mount more than anything else though I'd say.
I remember decatting an MY99 and an MY0 UK T2000, it ran OK afterwards.

In your first post you said 'it felt rapid but it's now holding back', that would lead me to believe you were 'hooning' around otherwise how would you know it was rapid. You shouldnt be going anywhere near boost until its mapped up. The fueling is no doubt all over the place and using the car on boost will/could do some serious damage. I only hope it hasnt already and that the holding back isnt something more sinister.

Best thing to do is leave it parked up and let your mapper look over it.
