One for 93-96 WRX owners.
Here is one for owners of 93-96 Impreza's.
I currently own a 95 WRX and thinking of my next move. Remapping or Brembo's? I would be grateful of hearing off owners of this model Impreza and their experiences as it seems to be hard to pin point info for pre-facelifts

Brmebos mean bigger wheels 17" minimum but not all 17" will let you fit Brembo under them (always worth doing a quick search becasue that question has been asked a lot of times ).
Rebuilt 4 pots with a good pad are decent enough brakes (rebuilt mine with stainless steel pistons which greatly improved them).
You may possibly already have a Z4 (look under the passenger side footwell there is a plate and the ecu is under that)
6K ecu is the best OE ecu that will fit your car but does give varied results (I tried one and it kept on giving me a MAP sensor fault, however many have had no issues)
You haven't said what your power goals are as the TMIC isn't particularly good as it's quite small so that may need to replaced by a TMIC from a later classic or newage car,or go for a FMIC.
Has the exhaust been decatted because that will limit what a remap will give you.
Have you had the car on a R/R just to make sure it's healthy as this may point out any issues that you may not know about
The final thing is how much do you want to spend? I found that to get 300bhp I would have to spend a fair amount so plumped for buying a STI Type R

Currently have 4 pots with new pistons, rings, discs and pads with braided hoses.
The car has been on two dyno's and had readings of 263 and then 267. I would like to hit the 300 mark, also car has been decatted but still on the standard intercooler.

ESL re-map for me. MY95 WRX should have a Z4 as standard.
FMIC, induction kit, de-cat with full exhaust and 440cc injectors should see 330bhp on standard TD05, maybe more.
4 pot brakes can be picked up for peanuts so get some of them, then you can always up-grade at a later date
