Anyone experienced this one.........sat outside Robinsons of Rochdale dealers today and couldn't activate my remote alarm on my new P1 ?
Rang the supplying dealer, Intermoto (good guys by the way), who stated that there are problems when you park near transmittors, masts etc....or something like that, which blocks out the remote alarm.....great eh ! They even went on to tell me that two dealers in particular have this problem directly outside their door, one is R & N Goldens, the other is.....you've guessed it, Robinsons!
My options were, push the car out of the way to a place were it may work (you got to be kidding)or, depress the keypad alarm with the secret number to de-activate the alarm, new car, didn't know the number so ended up waiting for Intermoto to verify it and come back to me, not b4 the alarm continually set itself on and off to the amusement of many people (who all bloody wished they owned scoobs anyway!)
£30k and aggro like this eh.......fun isn't it.

I've heard this is a common problem with many remote locking systems. I've heard trying putting the remote right next to the sensor can help in most cases. No good this time, but worth a try

Bummer Chris,
I'm sure its one of those things that they can easily resolve. I haven't had any problems with the P1 alarm but my previous MY00 sometimes wouldn't let me in...never did figure out why
Ian.

My Clifford does it as does my mates on his Scooby, the alarm can find the signal from the transmitter (Usually mobile phone stations.)and tries to move frequencies but ends up jamming the signal. I have had to open the car with the key before now dive in and use the fob right next to were the brain for the alarm is fitted with the sirens screaming and all looking on.

Its mainly to do with interference and strong signals from other equipment masking out your remote's signal (or even some of the 'anti-scan' features to prevent code guessing, though don't know if the P1 alarms have this).
Certain parts of the car park at PM Hospital in Swindon are a nightmare for various alarm makes!
Learn that code - its your failsafe for when something goes really wrong.....
