Generally with the right supporting mods it's around a 400bhp turbo, not that laggy and for the cash a pretty good choice in my opinion

Yes I no I'm going to get slated lol but I bought a tdo5 20g of eBay 2 years ago I no it's defo not a Andy Forrest but I thought for £180 I'd give it a go I put it on my classic import with the supporting mods had it remapped and got a respectable 378 bhp 380 ftlb at 1.7 bar it's never missed a beat still on now
kicks in at 3800 rpm and goes right to redline pulls like a train.I may of just been lucky one never noes.

thats not excessive, thats the price for a new genuine unit, albeit now they are mostly being sold as billet versions.

Proper turbos cost money mate. Try eBay if your after a cheap one, you never know, you might get lucky like the chap above.

You would be better off if you was to tell us what car and spec you have first, also what kind of power delivery are you looking for?

i was looking at these also but the eBay prices triggered alarm bells.
it was only appealing as i wanted 300bhp max with a quick spool.

If you only want 300bhp with quick spool then a 20G is not the right turbo for you.
Either a 16G or maybe one of Andy's TD04's.

No turbo conversation is complete without discussing supporting mods.
AF turbo wont make 400 unless part of a whole list of other gear....

Yes the hybrid turbo would be your best bet or a cheaper alternative would be the VF28 which is also easier to source
