Finially fitted my PIAA horns
Finally got around to fitting my PIAA sports horns on mt Hawk STI, The crappy original horn had to go.!!
Wanted to fit them so I could see them through the front centre grill.
Took about hour and half to fit and was a simple task really, had to remove the bonnet latch to bolt on the brackets, and extend all the wires and run a new earth.
Not the best pictures, but you will get the idea..
here are the original ones
removed the horns and bonnet catch
fitted the PIAA's
and then put the grills back on
And give it a good clean and touched up the black after I had finnished..

No mate, no need on the Hawkeye anyway
All you need to do is put in two new earth wires that are supplied with the PIAA horns from the negative connections on the bottom of the PIAA horns, down to earth
And connect the 2 spade connectors from the original horns, to the positive blades on the PIAA horns..

I thought that they recommended the relay, in case it overloaded the wiring? I thought they drew a fair bit more current?
Aren't they louder with a relay? saying that I don't need them deafening, only mildly deafening...

As Mickywrx said lenny, no need for a relay
There are 4 different ways of wiring these up, depends on how they a fitted as standard, all the diagrams are in the booklet when you purchase the PIAA horns and realy easy to follow
Just extend them to reach the horns where ever you decide to fit them..
PIAA horns are a different sound and louder than standard ones thats for sure, but not defening...
