Question

Just saw about half a dozen P1's in Subaru's depot in Quedgeley.

I remember hearing about dealers having trouble selling them, is this still the case, anybody know if and where any deals can be done?

There are still P1's available, but dealers are not discounting the current stock by order of Subaru.
Best chance of a deal is probably through the part ex value of your car, or having extra's put on it.

I've read on this board that there are only 16 left. So you better be quick!

There were approx 20 ex-demo P1's for sale on the Subaru website last week and dealers can still supply brand new.

There's one sat in Sparshatts, Botley, Hants that is new and unregistered, but they want the best part of 32k for it.

Thank for the help guys - spoken with a few dealers, all of which can get me a new, unregistered one. Also, there seem to be a few second hand ones around, although I don't know why you'd get rid of one so soon!

As an aside, are there any P1 owners out there who have found a particular dealer easy/good to negotiate with? Any info/help would be greatly received - if anyone would prefer to mail me please do.

Thanks a lot,

Matt.

Cheam Motors have had their P1 demonstrator on the forecourt for ages. They must be open to a deal now...

its a bit far from you but try Barretts of Canterbury, they are superb IMHO, and the guys down in the Motorsports division no how to set ya car up just right, everything they have done for me has been on time, at a good price with great service, they seem not to be able to put a foot wrong ...

(phil if you read this that'll be an extra 5% discount please !)

adyhicut,

There must be way more than 16 - dealers are still advertising them in mags

matt,

If you can't get a discount then somethings seriously wrong. They way the 2nd-hand market is crashing you'd be daft to pay the rrp. How can Subaru UK seriously say that no dealer should discount a P1 when every other manufacturer is being "encouraged" to reduce their new car prices. We all know we're going to make much bigger losses on Scoobies now; just make sure to keep you losses to the minimum.

I've just did a search on Autotrader and found 18 of the damn things.

Stefan

P.S. I was even banned by my dealers for asking how they were getting on with the P1's coz they just couldn't shift them.

There is a brand new P1 at Aird motors up in Beauly, north of Inverness. It was a cancelled order and has sat there since early last year! every friday in the motoring supplement in The Sun they have a big ad for it, must be costing them a fortune.
Colin.

oops nearly forgot, they want £31,995!

Intermoto in Liverpool, excellent people, I picked up my new baby last week for £29750 inc CD, overmats and a jacket !
Thing is guys that there seems to be a second wave of great interest in P1's again and they are definately selling quite quickly, Triangle of Chesterfield have sold 3 in the last week including an ex-demo with 1500 miles for £30k !!!!

Cool

This conjours up an image of some disused airfield somewhere - is it a lake - no, it's 600 unsold P1s parked up bumper to bumper!

P1`s are more common than unsold Rover 75`s!
Just about any Sube dealer can get them but not all will want to run the risk in case the deal falls through and they are stuck with them. They are good but £30,000 good? obviously not.

Actually, it's less than 600
For a car that you guys obviously don't want, you sure have a lot to say about it.
People either want one or not, and if they want one let them make their own mind up.... It's not 1984 and we're not being pursued by the 'Thought Police'!!!
