Classic Dash Clock Illumination Upgrades?
Anyone upgraded their Classic Clocks to illuminate brighter? I can hardly see the needles on mine at night, so has anyone upgraded theirs or even done something that illuminates the needles? Pics if possible please, thanks

As you'll already know, the WRX has the black faces and orange-red needles.
In my old 93 WRX, I gave the binnacle (and the heater's dials) the full Lockwood white dials treatment -- obviously the lighter dials, even at night, helped contrast against the dark needle.
Or what about painting the needles in that greeny-white luminous paint? Should illuminate brightly against the black dials...

yeah better than oem ....just did it to my classic porsche 944 instrutment cluster with a blue led strip from ebay for under £2, it was so bright that i need to turn the instrutment light fader to a lower setting !!
be warn ...you will need to do some soldering if you go down the led strip route(but it a better result than the upgrade leds imho ).

my 1st post on here but i've done this on a few cars. Mainly by changing the bulbs to wide angle leds. If you fit standard leds you get hot spots but ive just done my speedo on a 2000 reg impreza with these and the light spread is very good
you need about 4 or 5 of these

and 1 wide angle 501 bulb
I also did the heater panel with 4x t4 neo bulbs.

Thanks for the input fellas, looks like some wide angle LED's are the way to go then. Im guessing there is a green filter in the clocks somewhere? Might try and remove that to make them a bit brighter.
