Default Pussyfooting around...

Hi,

WRX STi Spec D 07/07. 25k miles.

Why do I, like my last 54 plate STi PPP blob 5 years ago, drive this like a *****?!

I'm so worried about damaging it and chocolate pistons etc, that most of the time, I'm plodding about.

Can I have some encouragement please to tell me that I'm not going to harm it, and it was designed to be driven, and to enjoy it.

THANK YOU!!!!!

No problem. No point owning it if you don't go out and enjoy it occasionally.

I just don't want a HG to blow or a piston to melt or anything silly like that.

It's very well looked after, and regular oil changes etc.

Mate look around at all the other impreza's out there, especially the classic turbos etc that get ragged about with 100k+ miles on them and still survive... Not only have you got a extremely low mileage engine thats only just started its working life you've got a higher spec'd engine with stronger internals and running gear to with stand being driven properly. Get out down them country lanes and enjoy it!

This is the problem, I just can't do it!!

I've only had it 2 months now I guess, the odd blast / tear up, but then get worried if I've done it any harm.

Let me borrow it for a couple of days, I'll clear it out for ya...lol...

No point owning such a car if you don't use it to its potential. If it breaks then so be it, cross that bridge if/when it happens. Its always repairable. In the mean time go out and have some bloody fun.

As long as you keep up with the regular oil changes then you'll be fine

Go out and tame the beast. Get the heart pumping and scare yourself now and again. You wil become a calmer driver who cannot be flustered behind the wheel

Or....
My real advice would be to book an airfield day with Andy Walsh of car limits. You will never look at your car the same way. Completely safe with nothing to crash into. Best day out I have had in a car, highly recommended

What makes you say that?

Spec C is JDM? Not Spec D.

Spec D is UK car mate. PPP is just a tuning package that is available to any UK Impreza, including the spec D.

Why don't you sell it and get a Skoda & be done with all the worry, stress, anxiety, apprehension, panic & so on.

Can't see the point or wisdom is owning the type of car you have & not enjoying it's potential or capability.
