Default Hi newbie here

Hi everyone just signed up and looking for advice. Im looking for a 2003-2006 model impreza sti (preferably the widetrack ppp model). I currently have a mk1 focus RS so in process of selling. My budget will be around £8500 mark. I missed out on the chance to buy a family members 2005 sti ppp so looking for similar.

Whats the common problems with the cars as im all new to them. Things to look out for/avoid etc. And if modified anything to steer clear of as there is one im keen on but has been modified?

Thanks

Derek

I would look for a 05 jdm as the car is so much more superior to the uk one and the tax is not that bad if you go for a 06 2.5 they have lots of engine faults plus the tax is £470+
IMO I would go for a 2.0l wide track

Its an 05 one that im looking at but uk spec which is what i prefered over jdm for cheaper insurance. Whats the main things to go wrong on these cars that i should pay particular attention to as im new to subarus? Anything really that would cost a fortune to put right. And is it best to buy standard over modified? Would like modified but just wondering whats a safe power to have in a blobeye 2.0 sti without changing internals etc.
