Question A weird CEL?

Guys, a quick question.
Recently with all the rain we've had I took the scoob out for a bit of a play.
Pretty much every time I've been having a little sideways fun the CEL has come on. It goes off after a day or 2 at most and i'm at a loss as to what causes it to come on?
I don't have a code reader but will look at pulling codes off it. I'm just wondering how drifting can ping a code when nothing else does?
Thanks, Sean.

This is for a classic.

Need an OBDII reader (either VAGCom style cable + Learning View) or a stand-alone device to read newage DTCs.

Possibly linked to the ABS ? if one wheel is spinning as others are gripping etc

I've spent hours on google looking for it. The best answer I can find is if I hit the limiter too many times, it auto flags a CEL that will turn off after 5 engine starts?!
Tried it 5 times and the light went out, I'm therefore assuming it is that.
Thanks anyway though.

I can think of another problem that occurs when you hit the limiter too many times. This problem ends up with your bank balance taking a major hit though chap...lol...
