Your BC coilovers review.......
Hi all,
I have spent some time researching BC coilovers and all in all they seem like a good set up. The only information that is difficult to come by is a long term review. I have found some long term reviews for other makes but few for those that have used them long term on the Impreza.
This is your oppotunity to tell the world what they are really like to live with.
What set up do you have?
How do they handle?
How reliable are they?
Do they last longer than the OE struts?
Over to you.........................................

i have a 2004 sti
this car
https://www.scoobynet.com/members-ga...-finished.html
i have the bc's whiteline arbs cdf drop links and an anti lift kit.
cant fault them really, the ride is far better than the original struts, you can adjust them for the track and im quite happy with them.
that said my car is not in everday use so cant really comment or reliability as the car doesnt do enough mileage.
had teins in the past which i found far to harsh for the road and the bcs ride better on the road.
jay will be along soon to tell you they are sh1te though

1 - Bc br coilovers.
2 - Handle well for the price in this price range when paired with whiteline arbs.
3 - Pretty reliable, good budget choice. Just had one shock fail on me but rebuilt it myself with new shock from apex = great company to deal with. Also springs rust and paint flakes off after a few good years but can easily be repainted with hammerite. Adjuster lock rings are very delicate and if shock body threads not greased up before initial fitting can be a pain in **** to adjust while on car.

totally agree with this, i take my wheels off every couple of months clean the shocks with wd40 and clean out the threads, this seems to keep them rust free.
also a bit off copper ease on the threads helps if you need to adjust height etc.

How many miles have you covered with them before the shock failed?
I have heard the shocks themselves are quite cheap to replace too.

Running the RM Series on my blobeye.
The handling is far better than the standard shocks. I have them set pretty stiff with the dampers set midway. It's a firm ride but it doesn't bother me. Mine came with the solid top mounts so I do get a bit of knocking from the rears when you hit bumps but again I'm used to it and I hardly notice it now.
Would reccomend them but go for the rubber top mounts to avoid the knocking which I see as the only downside to someone who's never had adjustable coilovers before.

I done nearly 16k miles on mine now, and they have been brilliant, one of the best upgrades you can do. Fitted to Impreza STI 05.
Did have a front knocking noise few months back, but this was only the adjuster nut, needed 1/4 of a turn to re-tighten, and have once again been great.
As you may or may not know, they have tons of adjustment, plenty for road use.
So overall no complaints here

I'm on my 2nd classic with them fitted. I would rate them as very good. 20'000 miles on my current car and they are fine!
Do know of a newage car where they have failed though.

shocks are £92.50 but that was about 6 months ago from apex, but then when i reassembled realised the topnut was knackered - apex again a massive help with info.
next time i would just buy a full new pair of bc coilovers as it was a pain in the a$$ to strip down old coilover and swap parts over to new one.
