Default New user with another couple of quick questions...

I'm hoping to buy a 2.0ltr WRX and was just wondering if xenons came as standard on them or were they an optional extra? (looking at a 2004-2005 plate model)
Also other than the PPP are there any other optional extras that I should be looking out for?

Cheers

I don't think they were standard except on JDM cars?

Ah ok cheers mate.
Would they have been standard on a 2006 plate 2.5ltr WRX? I've viewed so many adverts possibly I'm getting confused!

It was me being dumb and getting confused then... :-)
Cheers mate!
Is there much difference between the 2.0ltr and the 2.5? Everything I'm hearing suggests going for the 2.0 but I must admit I much prefer the look of the front of the 2.5! Seems to be slightly higher spec inside too isn't it?

Most of the talk about the 2.5 engines suggests they are weaker in relation to the 2.0 ltr, to do with the pistons I think. The 2006 2.5 depending what day in march that year it was registered is £460 a year for tax (robbing bA3tards). I have had my 2006 WRX hawkeye for 3 and a half years and not one problem with it.

Good luck with your search, try to take someone with you who knows about Subarus ;-)

Regards
Neil

Yeah mate I spotted the jump in tax! :@ 23rd of march is the cut off...
I'm not looking to massively mod the car and increase the power and stuff so I presume the supposed weaker pistons aren't going to be too much of a problem anyway?
Yeah hopefully I can find someone who will help me out when I'm looking although that's why I'm trying to do as much research on here as I can beforehand! We bought a lemon of a TT and joining the forum after, I found almost all the issues we had were known ones.... Trying to avoid the same mistake this time, hence trying to enlist the knowledge of you very helpful folk on this forum :-)

No problem ;-) there are some bargain 2.5 WRX'S on pistonheads at the moment, be wary of knocking noises normally from the back end ( suspension knocking struts)

A decent service history, look for signs of accident damage, check all the mots for correct mileage, if the car has lots of bolt ons ie up pipe, down pipe ( sports cat) make sure you check to make sure it has been remapped for the mods. I always try and buy from somebody who has had the car for a decent amount of time, no question is a stupid question!

I'm just after a clean car really, not looking for anything that's been modded/remapped etc other than possibly the PPP.

Will check out PH and see what I can find (and no doubt come back on here asking more questions )

Looks like I missed out as it's showing as sold now
Fair play, looked a good car too!

How much did it cost to get those gauges added in by the way?! They look
