Default 4 Pot Question

Been looking at these on Ebay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3307615871...84.m1423.l2661
Do you think these are any good or would I be better off getting a pair of used Subaru calipers for around the same price (£160ish)
Thanks

As that is only a right hand calliper I'd say buy used. Plus they look crap quality. Might be ace but at 300 quid your near on newage brembo money.

At least with these you know there are no seized pistons or bleed nipples.

Hi mate,

I looked at the same calipers from my 2004 WRX. They seem to get some pretty good reviews, and are a great price. In the end, after speaking with Ian from Godspeed I decided to go for some of his refurbished Subaru calipers. They cost me a little bit more ( I think they were £235 ) but to be honest they were like brand new, and I wanted to keep the car as original as possible. Hope this helps.

Paul.

They do both L & R at £160 for the pair which from looking about is what you will pay for a reasonable pair of second hand subaru calipers.
I am wondering what might be the best option.

Get a second hand set of genuine calipers and this kit
http://www.godspeedbrakes.co.uk/~god...id_product=150

then rebuild them, its an easy job, little time consuming but well worth it, I did some 2 weeks ago!

Cheers stualex,That certainly is an option.Your calipers were pretty manky in the beginning but looked great when you had finnished
Is it ok to powder coat calipers as I have a good contact that does it really cheap for me
I have seen really shot calipers go for about £80

I have a pair from a blob eye you can have for 115 quid posted. They could do with a lick of paint but are not seized.

I got the manky set for £60 delivered off a member on here and another set which weren't too bad and came with the discs and pads you see in the pics for £80 from a member on here.

I sold the first set I refurbed for £165, not as much as I wanted but still made a profit and the buyer was over the moon.

And yes, shot blasting and powder coating would be fine, just make sure they are masked up properly so you don't paint machined faces.

Stick up a wanted ad, I got loads of replies.
