Smile Happy 170th Birthday to me

Odometer ticked over to 170,000 miles last week, still going strong

I had a Focus company car and my boss said I could change it for my own as long as it had 4 doors. If he hadn't have insisted on that I'd have had an RX7 and things would have been much more expensive.

Classic 1997 UK Turbo 2000
Original engine
Borg & Beck clutch at 70,000 miles (when I got the car)
Hybrid turbo & supporting mods for 300+bhp / ftlbs

I have done genuine 150mph, I think it'll do 160 and I wanted to do that for 160K miles but didnt get opportunity. Pretty sure it wont do 170mph.

It's been tracked a few times, suffered periods of neglect, had 1 off (not me driving), survived 2 stag dos, delivered my pregnent wife to hospital and brought the family home, took 3 and all gear to the alps and Ive been stopped for speeding in Belgium and the UK.

Odd how inanimate objects become part of your life isn't it. Now the problem is how can it be replaced? I thought I'd finished with the mods but now I'm thinking:
Leather interior
AST suspension
6 sp gearbox
Twinscroll turbo

I can get another car for that! Oil and spanners must make you mad.

So here's to our cars and us nuts for being smart or lucky enough to own them.

Who else has big milage? What can they do with TLC?
