Well let me begin I brought I set of deep dish alloys off a 2003 Subaru spent all week refurbish them, so got the tyre place put my original tyres off my wheels 215 45 17 onto the new 1s rubbing really bad! So I fitted my orig sti rear springs as is was low on the rear still rubbing so today I got some 205 45 17 tyres fitted and it's better but when you go round a corner quick or over a dip at speed it still catches! It's driving me crazy and to make things worse I really like the wheels, have I got get rid of them I thought all Subaru wheels fit as long ad the tyres ate right obv not.. Any help advise or suggestion's would be great ad I don't no what do

The offset is obviously different chap.
On later cars you can get away with a wider offset as the arches flair out a touch but on a classic the margins are slightly tighter.
Deep dish wheels (like Rota drifts for instance) are usually a no go on classic unfortunately buddy.

What is the best thing to do here. roll the arches or swap back the wheels to correct offset mate ?

Need more info about the wheel size. The width and offset (ET) number.

Also, is it both sides or just one?

Camber bolts may be the answer so you can tuck the wheels/tyres into the arch space.

Both wheels are 7j my origanal speedlines were et48 these new 1's are et53??
It is both sides if i go steay all is good but under load if there is a dip in the road it will catch or going round a roundabout at speed, i'd hate to think what it would be like with anyone in the back

Camber bolts allow the camber front and back to be adjusted and that helps bring the top of the tyre inside the arch if you increase the negative camber. Subaru's come with basic camber bolts on the front from the factory but not the rears but you can buy them.

Strut to hub if you don't run coilovers and run normal shocks. With coilovers with different top mounts you can make these adjustments at the top, it depends on your set-up.

Sometimes you can get away with an arch roll, really depends how far the wheels stick out.
My current wheels are (I think from memory) ET48 with 225/45 tyres on, my arches have been rolled and camber slightly adjusted so they don't rub at all.

I would suggest getting the car over to a specialist for a look.

A decent wheel and tyre place should be able to help.
Also worth giving Mags a PM on here, he's our 'in house' wheel man and will no doubt give you some valuble info.
