Buying my 1st Subaru impreza :)
As the title says i am currently searching for my 1st subaru impreza turbo. I have always loved the looks and sound of the classic impreza .. although i could never afford the high insurance costs .. BUT circumstances have changed and i am now able to afford the insurance ... my problem is i only have a budget of upto £2500 and i am having trouble sourcing the right model to go for.
I have been looking on a website called gumtree.co.uk and have seen some really nice models on there ... a few subaru dealers have caught my eye..
1. in the Manchester area who is advertising them from £1888-£2444... wondering if anyone has bought from them before as they have some pretty nice looking imprezas ??
2. in the Leeds area also with some nice looking imprezas ... again has anyone bought cars from them before ??
As i said it is my first impreza so don't want to get stung with a dog lol... so any info would be appreciated or if anyone knowns of any reputable dealers with cheap impreza's for sale would be helpful.. with in around 60miles of Bradford West Yorkshire.

you will always pay more from a dealer mate, and you dont know what the prev. owner was like.
my advise would be get chgatting to guys on here, look in the for sale section, most people on here are known by a few others who will vouch for their car, i for one would always pref to buy of a recomendation rather than a dealer.
as always look out for service history, un molested (no chav cr@p) and test drive from cold!
good luck with the search mate.
Oh watch out for pistonheads, loads of fake sales on there lately mate

+1 for the service history and chatting to the previous owner.
I just bought my 2nd classic a few weeks ago and although has 128k miles it has full extensive service history, 2 folders full all laminated and the test drive backed this up, drove nice and tight and felt like a car with only 20k on.
I've seen some very tidy ones for sale on here well within your budget, if you buy from one of the more seasoned members you know your getting a well sorted car from someone who wont want any bad feedback splattered across the site.
If you buy a car from a dealer for that price then more than likely he will have acquired it for £750-£1500 meaning its half the car your after.
