School boy error!!
Am rather ashamed to be showing this but has caused no real harm other than me looking like a right ****.
All I'll say is:
When relocating the alarm siren to allow fitment of a strut brace make sure you actually relocate the siren somewhere before going for a B road blast and don't just leave it sat on the turbo!!
Oops

It does stink, very bad. I was letting a mate have a drive at the time when it started to stink and smoke was pouring out the bonnet vent when we stopped, he thought he'd fooked my car, so did I for a minute.
Am now looking for a replacement siren from a standard Cobra alarm!

Don't worry if it made you laugh, theres no harm done and its a lesson to all. On the up side, noticed a fair bit of difference with the strut brace, the car is so flat and sturdy round the corners it reminds me of when I used to do karting, smiles all day long.
We all do slight mistakes like that
This is what happens when you decide to clean your engine. Covered the intercooler, alarm housing and induction cone. Cleaned it, then took coverings off...or so I thought I had. Turns out I had missed the plastic bag that was covering the induction cone.
Turned on the engine to warm the engine bay up and dry off the water.
realised after about 5 seconds that I had left the bag on
This is what happens in 5 seconds !!..whoops

ooops oh well fella no harm done and well done for posting your fail.
at least a new siren should plug in so an easy if maybe slightly costly fix.
will the melted plastic on the turbo just break off when its cold??

Yeah majority of it chipped off easily enough after the engine had been switched off for 5 mins. The remainder has pretty much burnt off now and I've only used the car twice since.
