Default Scoob Noob

After years of FWD hot hatches I have finally given into temptation and converted to the world of flat fours and 4WD!

I have just bought a 2003 Blobeye WRX in WR Blue and loving every minute of it! (apart from the regular trips to the petrol station!)

However, being the WRX it has the smaller boot spoiler and it also has non colour coded side skirts. I was wondering if you guys could give me an idea as to what sort of price I should be looking to pay for the following:

> STI spoiler AND bootlid
> STI skirts
or
> Painted WRX skirts

There are a few I have enquired about but I wanted to know what the going rate was so I don't get ripped off!

Thanks in advance!

John

Not sure on prices mate but just to add to your list ,you will need the STi boot lid springs to cope with the extra weight of the spoiler.

Loads of bits for your car there but you may find it cheaper on for sale section if someone is breaking one.

Welcome, whereabouts in Warwickshire are you based?
Lots of specialists in close proximetry so your well set for scooby ownership. WR blue STI spoilers should be quite easy to come by on ebay etc.
Maybe £100 for painted sideskirts, dependant on where you go and quality of workmanship

Thanks for the messages guys.

Chopperman - yeah I had read this. What is the risk of not having them...having to hold the boot open at all times when I want to get stuff in and out? Or worse...

Shaks-STI - Thanks for the link, useful stuff. Unfortunately it seems that the sopiler is the first thing to go when people are breaking!

TeddyTaylor - Thanks mate!

averyp2 - Hello mate, I am based in Kenilworth. Yeah there is API that I have heard of and Thwaites Developments in Warwick that I know of. Any more?

I am looking for a full works service: cambelt, waterpump (necessary on these?), oil + filter, fuel filter, plugs, brake fluid, coolant flush etc etc very soon so any reccomendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again,

John

having had a wrx in the past and going down the route you are, i would suggest getting the bootlid with the spoiler.
as already said you also need the tensioner springs or it will slam very hard.
aftermarket copy spoilers may be cheaper and some good some bad quality, but i would get a genuine one even if it is a lot more as some aftermarkets ones can droop in the middle or crack.
you should have a problem getting any of the parts for your car though as its a popular model and colour and the parts pretty simple to fit.

I'd go to API since they are local to you, and they are one of the best around and are highly recommended and regarded on scoobynet.

I'm not sure on their prices, but i'm sure they are competative, and you will have peace of mind knowing it's been done properly, their contact details are on here, david is the main man and you will want for nothing by using them, i'm sure they will give the car a full health check too.
