Default RB5 Engine difference WRX

Hi, every one.
recently Had a bottom end Failure on My RB5 scooby.
i Have a donor WRX engine that im planning on using is this possible?
i know the heads are different so im planning on using the RB5 heads and inlet.
i need to buy a gasket kit (head/rocker) ive been told the RB5's heads are STI heads? so would i buy a wrx gasket kit or a STI one? little confused.
any help would be great.

afaik they are a uk 2000 with a nice paint job, no sti heads, so just stick the wrx engine in complete. wrx and sti use the same shape hg but i think its the thickness that is different.

presuming you are talking the same age 99/00 WRX then the engine is basically identical to the RB5 which just uses a std UK motor..............

good point alyn, if youve got a 99/00 motor the heads are the same and will therefore fit your inlet manifold, if its an older motor you will have to use your heads, blocks are the same

I was told that thay the same rb5 are 220 bhp as are uk turbos but I think the rb5 sport has some Prodrive pits on it whot macks it a little bit more powe than normal ones I not the gear box are the same

I have a v5 engin for £400 if you need a engine to drop in

gearbox and engine are identical for a UK 99/00 turbo car........

the "WR Sport" cars simply got a PPP type ECU..........

so im thinking the engine ive got is OB older as the inlet doesnot fit.
so ive removed my RB5 heads witch are mint and ive had them checked over for defects today, and been given the all clear to use them ,
what head gasket kit should i buy? would this one be any good?
