Default Air induction kit

Has anyone got any advice on air intake kits for my standard wrx impreza 2003 blobeye. Would it require a remap once fitted or does it depend on the type etc.
Any advice would be good . Thanks.

You don't need one, go witha good panel filter, much cheaper and is as good if not better than an induction kit for what you need.

The OE air box with a K&N panel filter is good upto and possibly above the 400 bhp mark. If you want the sound of an induction kit then if you are okay with spanners remove the air box and snorkel, undo the drivers side wheel arch liner and remove the resinator unit. Refit the wheel arch liner and refit the airbox and snorkel.

As above, I've been running a performance panel filter (green cotton) for a couple of years now with no problems, however I'm about to do my second remap to take the power to around 330ish so fancied a change and have got an APS cold air induction feed which mounts in the near side wing. Fitting these can require a remap as the maf can get a bit confused.

no good with spanners due to an injury , my dad has to do mechanical things for me. Its only standard so ive no need to worry about bhp limits , just want a nice sound from the engine .

Stick with the standard airbox and a decent filter. No need for Induction and can cause compressor surge even when mapped. Backwards step IMO

IK shouldnt cause surge on a single scroll at this level, but totally agree with the fact it's not needed and stick with your airbox.

Sorry to jump in on this, but what would you guys recommend for a decent panel filter? K&N has been mentioned but are there any others that you have tried?
