Default MASSIVE problem... ARGH!!!

Car failed MOT on broken spring last weekend, is booked in for saturday for re-test and new springs fitting, ordered eibach springs online and just been told they're not going to arrive until begining of APRIL from manufacturers, phoned spring-loaded.co.uk and he told me that EVERYWHERE is out of stock of ALL springs for my car, and that all retailers are having trouble with manufacturing at the moment, and a lot of retailers have been waiting since JANUARY for springs for the WRX from the factory, so now ive got to find somewhere thats got springs in stock for an 03 blob wrx, and can get them to me on next day delivery otherwise car is off the road and im bolloxed to put it politely!

Yeah i get the second hand bit, but buying them and someone saying they will be here tomorrow and that actually being the case is another story, ive waited 3 weeks for second hand stuff off ebay before. Phoned scoobyparts.com, Tim isnt in today and the lady i spoke to didnt know what springs were right for my car so anyway, Nightmare solved, scoobyworld.co.uk have eibachs for next day delivery, albeit £216.35 but needs must.

I sense sarcasm. And yes, when you've got a day to find springs to make your car MOT friendly because slack retailers take your money when they dont have things in stock (and havent since january and wont until April!) and decide to tell you 1 day before the MOT and 9 days AFTER taking your money (on the basis of next day delivery!), you work 35 miles away, you cant get to work, lose your job, lose your home, cant eat, etc - it is a nightmare trying to sort stuff out.

I'd been trying since 9am, and kept being told no stock by everyone including suspension specialists and none until April, after 3 hours you start to worry about those silly little things like your employment, believe me.

Could you not have found some reasonably local on e-bay, and sent someone for them? Or gone yrself after work?

It's what I would have done.

I could, but when i sorted by distance, nearest first, closest second hand were 135 miles, hardly a short run up the road with a broken spring! Anyway, its sorted now aslong as they do turn up tomorrow.

Yeah, it was just a suggestion.
I've done it and found parts at Donny, 25 miles.
But I do have access to another car, my eldest, Andy (COB on here) etc.

Err, car rental? If needs must, I'd ring a breaker and drive over to collect.
