Lost locking wheel nut key...
#1
Yes, I'm completely stupid....
I've mislaid the key to the locking wheelnut (UK MY00)and have a slow puncture, so need to remove the wheel
So, what's the best way of getting the locking wheelnut off please - undamaged if poss
I've found out a new set is about £18 inc VAT, so it's not the end of the world if it has to be wrecked, I supppose

Park the car in Liverpool. The wheels will be off sharpish.
Only downside is that new wheels as well as nuts will be required.
Steve
PS Better idea is to contact a dealer. I know a couple of people whose wheel nuts were knackered by quick-fit type tyre outlets using air guns on them and mangling the sockets on the nuts. Their dealer got them off and replaced said nuts.

Sorry, I wasn't very clear...
There isn't actually a real key as in a Yale lock on your front door - there's just a weird splined nut on the wheel that you fit an adapter (the 'key') to that has got a the female side of the splined nut at one end and a standard nut on the other end for the wrench/air gun etc
I guess **big** mole grips or welding something to the nut is they way to go

Go to a dealer.
If I recall my dealer got my wheels off last service without having to use my "key" so I assume they have some master version.
Assuming thats a subaru locking wheelnut.

I bought my MY99 and "thought" the key had gone walkabout - turns out that it was well hidden in my car but...
The dealer I bought it from said I could take the car back to them and they'd take the old ones off by force and replace them. From this I don't think they have a master key but are definately the place to go to in order to get them removed.

The dealer can supply a replacement 'key' if you have the number, or indeed get the old ones off and supply new. We don't have a master key, but if you want to know how to get the old ones off, mail me.
