Help me with this vin code please

Default Help me with this vin code please

There has been a bit of confusion over the fact that the impreza im getting is a T reg but has the older front end. Here is the vin code so could someone help me clear up what MY it is etc.

JF1GC8KDJWG028896

It's in the middle of the code you posted

JF1 = fuji heavy industries
GC8 = impreza saloon

ETA: Oops got the codes mixed up
W means 1998 model year (MY98)

Thats odd as its for sale as a 99reg UK Turbo 2000

OK GC8F = MY99 from the chassis code

But MY98 from the VIN code?

And a MY98 front end...

(Scratches head)

Not sure how reliable the VIN code dating is though. I don't know if it is Jan-Dec as opposed to chassis code Sept-Aug.

In the model code it says its a WRX. Did the uk turbo have its own code of did they all get the WRX code?

the bumper/lighrs are a simple swap.
i wouldnt worry too much as you have swapped already so its a bit late now.

Is it only the bumper you swap or is it lights and bonnet as well for the facelift?
