Help me with this vin code please
There has been a bit of confusion over the fact that the impreza im getting is a T reg but has the older front end. Here is the vin code so could someone help me clear up what MY it is etc.

It's in the middle of the code you posted
JF1 = fuji heavy industries
GC8 = impreza saloon
ETA: Oops got the codes mixed up
W means 1998 model year (MY98)

OK GC8F = MY99 from the chassis code
But MY98 from the VIN code?
And a MY98 front end...
(Scratches head)
Not sure how reliable the VIN code dating is though. I don't know if it is Jan-Dec as opposed to chassis code Sept-Aug.

Also says its a WRX and not a UK turbo 2000?

In the model code it says its a WRX. Did the uk turbo have its own code of did they all get the WRX code?

Its a UK turbo.
Produced between September 98 and August 99.

Are you sure? I just got confusd when it worked out as a WRX of the GC8 no.

its either a 98 or a 99 with a 98 front end fitted, this could be due to crash damage or the owner simply preferred it.
the bumper/lighrs are a simple swap.
i wouldnt worry too much as you have swapped already so its a bit late now.
