I really don't get the Toyo thing, there are way better tyres for the money. The side wall on Toyos are way too soft, there are plenty of tyres that offer better grip and they are no longer the bargain they once were.... you can get Sport Contact 3s or Eagle F1s for similar money to T1-Rs these days - both of which are head and shoulders above the Toyo - shows the danger of conventional wisdom I guess. Seriously, it's time to broaden our horizons a bit.
@OP, if you're looking for a great mid range tyre, have a look at BF Goodrich g-Force profilers (made by Michelin), Falkens or Kumho Ecsta SPTs... all of which should be available cheaper than Toyos and IMO are better tyres (especially the BFGs which are not far short of Eagle F1s in terms of performance and much better than them in terms of tyre wear).

I don't get this Toyo thing either! They're pants compared to other brands I've used. I was fortunate to get a nearly new set of Bridgestone re050's on a set of wheels I bought so these will be fine for ages. But then I'll be seriously considering Falken and other brands before Toyo.
