Sprint Series For Subaru's
There is a sprint series available this year for you to have some fun in with your Subaru's, organised by Steven Darley over on 22B.com, which will run within the excellent MLR Sprint series.
There has always been good interest in fun sprints for Subaru owners with SSO and Scoobysprint in the past, so this is a way to have some fun in a very well organised series of events.
You can see the rules for the series at http://bbs.22b.com/cgi-bin/ultimateb...;f=25;t=000344
Entry list for the first round is at http://bbs.22b.com/cgi-bin/ultimateb...;f=25;t=000347
The discusion thread on the sprint series is at http://bbs.22b.com/cgi-bin/ultimateb...c;f=1;t=006675
The event organisors are the MLR (Mitsubishi Lancer Register) who always put on a very profesional event, so come and join in the fun competing against the EVO's as well as your fellow Subaru enthusiasts.
Team Subaru beat the EVO's at TOTB last year, so it would be great fun to take the competition to then in their own series too. It's also a great way of helping keep sprinting for Subaru/EVO enthusiasts going in these harder financial times, which can only be a good thing for us all longer term.
The MLR Sprint series has a dedicated forum section you can also read to get more information. http://www.lancerregister.com/forumdisplay.php?f=116
I've competed a few times in the MLR events, so can recomend their organisation and track choices from first hand experience, you won't be disapointed.
Entries are on a first come first served basis, and the initial limit is 20 Subaru's, (it will be opened up to more Subaru's if all places arn't taken in the EVO runners with 3 weeks to go), so don't hang about if you wish to enter.

My car has no m.o.t......
So would that put me in pro class ?
Also do tyres have to have road legal tread depth.....have 2 sets of r888 but they are down to about 1.5 mm ?

You would have to run in class 3 if no MOT and the car would have to be to a standard that the scrutineer is happy with.
Tyre tread depth isn't a listed requirement, but must satisfy the scrutineer that they are safe, so you wouldn't be able to run if they were showing any severe wear such as through the main surface.

Last year there were 54 cars entered at Silverstone, and everyone got 14 runs! I've done a few MLR sprints in the past few years, i've never come away thinking i didnt get enough time on track and have always been happy with the value for money.
It's a really slick operation with proper live timing, so you can see how you are doing instantly.

You can change your class anytime before the event.
I don't know the current entry numbers, that will obviously change pre the event, but dont let that worry you, MLR will only allow as many entries as they can cater for properly, max for Silverstone is 65 cars.
MLR put up a running order a few days before the events, so you can see what number you are and when you will be running. They run it to a strict running order, so everyone gets the same oportunities and no queue jumping happens.
The format is :
morning: timed practice runs than dont count to your finish position
afternoon: timed runs that count for your finish position

Point to point.
At Silverstone you start just before the first corner on a slip road onto the track and finish after the last corner.
Event info is at http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?t=402840

I would like to enter, as my best buddy currently does the MLR sprint in his Evo 6.
However I am not sure if the car will be ready for this season, all depends on funds.
I guess next season for me, just wanted to let you know I am interested mid term.
Hope this gets alot of support, as it would be really good if this takes off. I will certainly aim to spectate at a minium this year - would like to see lees hard work in the flesh
