Default 100 Cell Sport Cat.

Hi all,

I'm looking to buy a 100 Cell Sport cat downpipe for the WRX. My question is will this throw up a cell light if I fit it without a map tweak? Or with the ecu compensate for the extra flow?

Eventually I will be getting a second map when I fit a VF34, Pinks and so on, but wondered if I could get away with fitting the downpipe before.

Dont get me wrong I would like to go decat but I'm not sure I can be bothered with the whole mot situation.

Cheers

I had an 100 cell sports cat on my STi version6 and it still failed an MOT test on CO2.
Long live understanding MOT stations!

You would probably be better off looking for a second hand Prodrive sports CAT downpipe. They are really well made, work well and no issues come MOT time.

Yeah I've heard they can fail at the mot station but if it's warmed up properly then it should pass fine. Not sure if that's a myth though?

Chat to Pete at Cobra exhausts in Sheffield. They do a genuine 200 cell sports cat which flows very well and zips through the emmissions easy peasy... A PS cheap as chips and great qualiuty too...

Thanks but I think I'll stick with the 100 cell. Time to save some dolla.

Also does anyone know if fitting pre-map tweak it will cause issues?

Fitting a sports cat without a remap will give you a CEL for Cat below efficiency.

I was also advised that a 100 cell cat will struggle to pass emissions tests so have a Prodrive cat fitted to mine.

I've had the Japspeed 100 cel fitted, with a remap and it's been very good the last 2 months.
