Default Just bought 2003 WRX, Exhaust has spark plug in it?

Hi Guys
Just bought a 2003 WRX, firstly, absolutely in love with it, the handling, the power, really nice. Secondly, the exhaust is huge and has a spark plug in the end of it (albeit not connected to anything) - i'm guessing this is some kind of "flamer" exhaust? Are these worth anything because i just want a smaller backbox sticking back on, this thing is like a dustbin and ill never want flames out my exhaust.

Cheers

The flamer kit could be fitted to any exhaust so your exhaust is probably just a normal aftermarket item

Before you do another thing get it one of the respected tuners and get it checked out regardless of what paperwork you have with it. If someone is stupid enough to put a flamer on then the cars almost certainly had a hard life!

Nothing quite says "ive been ragged" more than a flamer kit. seriously it will probably be fine, just get it serviced and checked over soon.

Enjoy it

Thanks for the replies all, i'd generally agree but the car had only 1 previous owner who was a 42 year old woman, ive just spoken to her and she said her husband bought the exhaust as a gift as he thought flames would be good but it was never wired up or anything because she couldnt find anyone locally to do it, it runs lovely, no remap, no engine mods (i.e original recirc valve, original airbox etc) - has been serviced with only the best on the dot every year (got all receipts totalling thousands upon thousands), mechanically sound, cam belt & auxilary belts changed twice, 60k and 114k miles - (on 119k now). I drove a few before this one and i have to say, this one drives beautifully, goes like hell and feels great. I doubt its been ragged, but there again im sure all scoobies have been given some stick at some point in their life, otherwise whats the point

Mate anyone who thinks flames out the back of subaru by any other means then mapping should not be allowed near one. If your keeping the car its good to have a check anyway dispite who owned it mate
