Default Is it a crime?

If I bought an early 1993 registered WRX Type RA, but facelifted the front end to a 99/00, would it be a crime against RA's?

What's the normal accepted thing with these cars? Do most agree you leave them untouched and the fronts should match the age of the car, or is facelifting okay?

I'm toying with buying an RA in the next few days, but it's the old front end I'm not sure I could live with and really the 99/00 front end is perfect in my eyes, but I accept some cars need to stay original.

Any thoughts at all?

Yeah you`d RUIN it. And the Preface is the original and best.
You will get used to it, as you`d see loads of facelift cars, and next to none preface.

At the end of the day it's you're car, do what you want to it. The main thing is that YOU are happy with how it looks.

But yours was a Version 5 wasn't it, so that front bumper was standard?

I don't want to get used to it I had an old red 1995 classic with that front end and couldn't live with it. If I buy this RA it'll either get facelifted, but if it's should be kept as standard then I will move on to another car.

1993 RA, a very early car that. Would love to see a completely original one.

I appreciate that, and you're quite right, but as these early cars are dying out and (IMO) the RA's are a little special, I don't want to be accused of ruining it.

There you are, people appreciate the original car. I would facelift it and fit the STi version roof flap. I'm sure it'd be Marmite

Buy and facelift it, if that's what you prefer Cliff.

Stick a generic 555 plate on it and no one will be any the wiser.

Okay, I hear you all, I'm sure you understand why I ask the question though
I've been away from the Subaru scene for so long and I know nothing anymore Had this been a normal 93 WRX, I'd have no issues facelifting.

Should never have bought a sodding Evo, then you wouldn't be asking silly questions.

Good god so no doubt you're back to a UK turbo 2000 again! Just buy the RA, fit a roof flap and wheels and be happy! White early classic RA's rule!

Just buy a V5/6 STI and be happy with it, after all, they're cheap enough now. Or, do as Paulo says and buy the 93RA then leave as is.

RA's are too special to change radically like that imho, subtle mods should be ok though.
