Default Really like the look of this classic....but

I just can't help feeling its just too expensive for these times.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3705765258...84.m1423.l2649

My first Impreza was a sonic blue UK car. (well EU from Dublin but you know what I mean) I miss it terribly and have never really forgiven myself for selling up.

They are actually kinda rare in the UK having not actually been supplied in this colour in the UK (outside the P1 and Terzo)

Of all the colours this is be far my favorite.

If it was just that little bit cheaper I'd struggle not to pick up the phone.

Its how I also thought they would go. The same happened with Golfs and 205GTIs. You had the sheds that disappeared after a few years and the very good ones got more expensive. For a minty mint 205GTI you could consider £3K??? Golfs are even more.

Mint well looked after classics may never be worth a fortune but very good ones should hold thier value.

Its amazing how few classics are on Pistonheads these days. Its gone from 300 to 100 or so in 18 months.

I couldn't go over £3K and I think that is a bit too much - but, if it really has to be sonic blue and standard and in good condition then I may have to. Still pics hide a mutitude of sins and it could be a complete shed (doesn't look it though)

If it had 20k less miles, I'd say the price wasnt unrealistic.

£2995 feels about right to me.

I agree,
A mint low mileage original classic will still have a worth and will ofcourse demand a higher price tag.

I thought a few years ago that scoobs were everywhere, now though classics are pretty rare. I will probably see 5 911's before i see a classic in my area. They got to a price that could be afforded by boy racers, got crashed and written off I'd imagine. Just search "breaking impreza" or "spares or repair" on ebay, there's about 7 pages of them.
I thought the price would hit rock bottom and then eventually pick up. I have to agree with the OP though, that one is very plain for the money.
2dr's i bet will be worth a small fortune in years to come, thats my opinion anyway.

I dont think it is vastly over priced considering the rarity colour wise,I agree it would be a bit more appealing with say 70ish thou miles on but if it is as tidy as seller is making out,its well worth a look in my opinion,if you can get price down to 3k ish,all the better,Good luck!

Nice looking example if you want standard but have to agree think it's a bit over priced. A garage always demands more. Worth a look and a cheeky cash offer I reckon. Good luck let us know.

Sorry to say it but this is how we want them to go.

Once all the cr@p classics are scrapped or written off the price should increase meaning fewer chavs can afford them and hopefully they'll get a better reputation.

As a P1 owner I'm biased because I'd love the price of classics especially the special editions to go up. I have no intention in selling although a week ago during a moment of madness (insurance due) I did put it on autotrader for £8000 and have had a few calls. Think I put the people who called off by saying I don't really want to sell it and making it very difficult for them to arrange to see it. One week left and it'll disappear off autotrader.

Plain is good IMO.

I had exactly the same car back in 2003 or so. I bought P1 rear spoiler, P1 splitter, PIAA lights, 18 RAYs copies in white, WRC Type RA seats and a few stickers.

After all that I looked at pictures not long after I bought it and only thing it had was some Ocari front splitter and 17s. No other mods and it looked so much better than what I'd wasted all that money to achieve.

I'd change to wheels to 17s and try and get a set of PIAA again but I wouldn't go putting all that other tat on - the blue seats look awesome though so I'd like them again (Had them in that and the Type RA I had)

I'm not even sure I'd mod the engine that much. Sort the breathing out and get it mapped and that would be about it. The Type RA was fast and that was enjoyable but the UK car still had a decent turn of speed to it (just filter, zorst and ECUTEK) - I might get one of those hybrid TD04s or a VF28/29.

Do you mean don't buy it because I'll be saddled with it forever? Or pay £3K, decide a few months later I had rose tinted specs on and end up selling for £1500 (3 guesses where I am right now )

You're in a good situation though. You have a car from a certain number, and one of the most desirable. As Subaru don't make the classic, or its special editions anymore then the amount of cars like yours available will never rise.

Hi, due to the amount of scoobys getting broken for parts and boy racers writing them off, I think now is the time to pay good money for a classic that is in excellent condition as prices are now steadying and I believe will increase in years to come!

For that sort of money you are into STI RA Ltd territory. Sonic blue with the added bonus of a numbered plaque

I really can't see a standard UK turbo being worth mega money in the future, regardless of miles or condition. It will be like an Intergrale 8V compared to say an EVO. The special editions or things like RA's, type R's etc will one day become real classics an if kept in stunning condition will become valuble.

Another classic at the same kind of money:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1707549609...84.m1423.l2649

Guy is local to me so kept a keen eye on it. Although bidding reached £3500, the buyer never paid up, so still for sale.
I'd say £3k max in the current climate.

These are not cheap cars to run and I think a lot of people forget that when trying to sell on.

I'd be happier spending £3K on that than the one I linked to. Its not sonic blue but dark mica blue is still a great colour for classics.

Might send the guy a message through ebay.
