New owner advice please.
Hello all. I am thinking about getting a scooby, as I've always wanted to see how they drive. After reading a lot on here and other forums, I am looking at either a UK Blob eye PPP STI, or a WR1.
There's quite a difference in price, obviously the limited production WR1 is more expensive. But is the WR1 any better than a PPP STI? or is it mainly cosmetic? Does the WR1 go and handle better?
Your advice would be much appreciated.
Phil.

Hi Phil.
, The wr1 does run slight more power that a PPP STI as well as cosmetic differences but you can get a custom map and panel filter to give you similar if not more performance on the PPP.
Depends on how much money you have to spend if you can afford a WR1 you probably find you'll be led down the early JDM route instead.

Don't bother with a wr1......mine had some really nice bits, running 400 , couldn't sell for love or money
Stuck into a mate for 9k in the end to see the back of it
Worse car I've ever tried selling

So would I be better getting a standard STI and modding it myself?
Is there any way of checking up on a cars past history? Do owners mod them and then put them back to standard?

mmmmm, I've just sold my Focus RS Mk2, and this is what's happening with people running them with 400 bhp, lowering springs and stupid spacers etc. and them putting them back to standard for some poor begger to pick up the pieces.
Maybe I'd better buying one that has been PPP from new.
Thanks for the replies guys.

I doubt there would be that much difference in price between a standard and none standard car anyway on a blob eye. Go for the car thats in the best condition whether it is PPP's or not as you'll end up modding it anyway.
That's just my two pence worth
And if you can, go for JDM. Far better car

You'll find the answer if you read this thread specifically post #18.
https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...ats-a-jdm.html
You dont get the Burble in a JDM and there are not as many about as the uk spec so expect to pay abit more for what is a better car like I said earlier depends on your budget.
