Default Impreza market

I'am soon to be entering Impreza ownership again can the market get any worse for sellers next year or there after? There are some bargains out there but places such as pistonheads have a sharp decline in ones forsale,

I don't see the market getting any better for any high performance cars in the near future, high petrol prices plus rip off insurance premiums and higher road tax on newer cars are ruining the joy of owning a performance car unfortunately

New Age before March 2006 will be the same price as a classic. It's 2006 onwards that practically doubles the VED.

On the plus side, its good for sellers that the price of new Scoobies is going up noticeably - can only be good for sellers in the second hand market.

And there are always people out there who can afford the crazy tax/insurance/maintenance costs of Scoobies. Those that can't, or like me, who no longer want to be in that game, "there are other cars" out there.

Everyone has different "requirements" - I've decided not to throw as much money at a fun/main car as I have with the last 2 Scoobies + I don't feel the need to have as many blats as I used to.
When I sell mine (which I expect to take a few months) I'll look for a nice fun/summer/track car that costs peanuts to insure/maintain etc compared to the Scooby - something like a Westfield V8 (4.6 - 5.0 litre), which will have around 500BHP/tonne (340BHP and 700kg) and can be towed behind the wife's Golf diesel Match Bluemotion 2 litre (£30 tax, av 65mpg, free servicing for 3 years) so when we go on holiday we can tow the Westie to use wherever we end up, or the Golf if wet !! Best of both worlds
Thats the current plan !

£225 for 12months on my 95 STi wagon.

Been looking at switching to a Silvia or EVO recently, but it doesn't seem worth selling at the moment, even though there's only a handful of sti wagons about.

The number of them for sale has reduced on Pistonheads because:

1. They completely screwed up the introduction of a new classifieds system.
2. Everyone knows that December is the worst possible time to sell a car.

The market for them will only get worse if the price of fuel continues to rise. Seems reasonably stable at the moment.
