The mileage is high but i'd still go for it as it will still be more reliable than the Astra mate and alot more fun, it's also alot nicer to look at (assuming im talking about your usual VXR?)
Take it for a test drive mate. I'd personally say the scoob.

Very clean mate and looks almost brand new but doesn't shout exciting. I'd still say the WR1 mate. It all really depends on what you want from a car, the WR1 will be thirsty, loud (rocket launcher exhaust) and very stiff (Tein coilovers) so will be more of a toy than an everyday car.

From Parkers guide for a very rough idea.......

According to Parkers, Vauxhall is worth considerably more. The price for the WR1 is based on a 70k example, not one with 100k.

Deffinately would not be swapping !!!'
Your car is worth all of 8 grand, take a look on autotrader for instance. At 8K with 45K your car would look cheap.
100K WR1 will still be very reliable but is it worth 8 grand.....I think not.
If I was you chap I'd sell the VXR first for cash and get as close to 8 grand as possible. Then with that money I'd go out on the hunt for a blob STI. With cash in your hand 8 grand will get you a very nice example.

WR1 really only worth buying when it's got low miles - you could argue that is the same for any limited edition.
Theres 05 STI with 25% of that mileage for £8K. Not worth the trade IMO.

astra is a far better car to have over that WR1, as above sell the VXR and buy a better specced blob sti, also god knows how someone come to the conclusion the subaru will be more reliable then the astra???

What makes you think that Subaru are not as reliable as Vauxhall? I've been a mechanic working on all makes for 11 years now & have had more reliability issues with Vauxhall than with any other make of car!

probably because vauxhall sell alot more cars theen vauxhall and therefore by default they would appear to have more problems?
I can only speak from my own experience from owning several vauxhalls, with no problems and then owning one subaru which so far in a year has had to have new suspension, new maf and a full rebuild.
the fact of the matter is that astra is worth more then the subaru.

That WR1 has been for sale at that dealer for months. I'd been looking for one since May (although I ended up with something else) and I'm certain it was being advertised in August or September, if that's any help.
I'm not saying it's good or bad incidentally, simply it seems to have been for sale for a very long time which makes you wonder why it hasn't sold.
Good luck in any case.

Not a chance would I entertain that, you can buy a 2005 model with the wider running gear, revised interior for 8k with half the miles the wr1 has done. You would be mad simple. Sell your astra private and buy private. Walk away but its you car n cash so do what you wish

To be honest guys
I drove it yesterday and he drove mine
The scooby has a lot better traction than my vxr but once they are moving mine feels more responsive and pulls harder!
But I pushed it hard upto about 90mph and my vxr was still sitting behind me!
The vxr isn't standard at ll though lol

£480 a year insurance and I'm 33 with 5 years no claims
£260 a year for road tax
I get about 32mpg round town and about 37mpg on a run
And mods mine has a Courtney enlarged top hat, cdti air box conversion and a dream science remap
