Can I run on LRP?
#1
If LRP is Super Unleaded with an aditive in to simulate lead lubricating the valves (whether it works as well is another story)
and the Leaded was a no no due to the cats being effected by the lead can I put LRP in???
Why you may ask would I want to do that?! because it is cheaper!
and same RON as Super! although I am not sure on exact RON? I assume 97RON. Currently running on Optimax but getting fed up with making detours to get fuel.
Cheers

Definitely NOT
1) Cannot be used with ‘cats
2) Pump nozzle probably too big anyway (to prevent use in newer engines with narrow gauge filler pipes).
3) Caused big problems to turbo engines in Sweden when introduced in early ‘90s (although different base additive was used in that version of LRP)
4) No British Standard exists for LRP
5) Reports claim that it can tend to clog up fuel system
6) If using LRP you are supposed to stick to single source so additives from different suppliers do not clash.

The Short answer is no.
LRP has other nasties in it, that are harmful to Catalytic convertors, that makes it unsuitable for cars equipped with one.
Obviously the next question is, can I use it if I have removced the Cat, to which I have no answer. Logically I would say yes, but as the cost of LRP,SUL and Optimax are very similar, is it worth the risk?
