ScoobyNet Car in World Sports Cars PC Game

Hi Tony
You are dead right. They are both great guys.
I do not want to post it as is, as I know they hate letting things out that are unfinished, but will ask their permission to do so once they have finished it.
Good idea
Cheers

Hi All
I've just received these pics of the latest version of the ScoobyNet WRC car to appear in the EAGERLY awaited "World Sports Cars", by West Racing. If you haven't heard of this game, it is GENUINELY due to be the most astonishing racing sim of all time (by many many miles). It is unlikely that anyone will attempt to achieve the level of realism they are including for many many years.
They have not finished the front or back so they don't have lights, etc, there are no driver bodies, and no cockpit detail, but it will all be there in the final game.
How cool is that?
More info and video of the car on the ScoobyNews CD.
Best regards
Simon

Looks nothing like either of you!
Mucho respect for getting your persona into what promises to be the driving game of the year - if it ever gets released!
Oh to be a computer game tester...

VERY COOL.
With those two names on the side wouldn't the ride height be lower
That looks mean....gives you a pretty good idea on how to paint your real life rally car too!!

now that is seriously cool! I'm a driving sim nut, well, on PS that is, got GT and GT2, will be getting a PS2 purley for GT3 (and maybe MGS2)
Don't suppose there is going to be a PS2 port of the game? i'd feel well proud to raz round in scoobynet logoed car.
hmmm, wonder if scoobynet could talk to prog team of GT3 to get the race spec car to have the scoobynet livery! now that would be cool

Hi Chaps
Nibus
The inclusion of the ScoobyNet car is in return for the help I am giving on the physics, etc. Which is very nice of them indeed. Especially when you consider just how big this game is going to be, and the additional fact that there was not going to be a scooby in the game at all.

Get ready to eat your hat then mate! I promise you, believe it or not, this will be SUBSTANTIALLY more realistic than GPL.
I know that sounds hard to believe, but the physics model has been in development for over 3 years, and is mind-blowingly complex and in-depth.
I don't want to say too much in-case I give something away that I'm not supposed to, but I very much doubt that this level of realism will be attempted again for many many years (maybe ever). This is the reason I was happy to provide my services as I saw it as such a fascinating project.
ady!
cheeky git!!
Cheers
Simon
PS. Just realised we've let the cat out of the bag in terms of John Felstead co-driving. I am thrilled to have John along side me and we hope to get a few practice events underway as soon as the foot and mouth crisis is over and they re-start all the events.

Simon,
To be truly accurate they need to include something like this in the code
if driver = simondebanke then
...propensity_to_drive_sideways=propensity_to_driv e_sideways*4
else
......propensity_to_drive_sideways=0
end if
if driver = johnfelstead then
...mechanical_failure_probability=95%
else
...mechanical_failure_probability=5%
end if
if driver = stef then
...Gravel_affinity=100%
else
...Gravel_affinity=2%
end if
if driver = harj then
...weight=weight*2
else
....weight=1500
end if
if driver = nsmalley
...Max_speed=Max_speed/2
else
...speed=150
end if
Make sure you pass it on won't you. I think there may be some more code required though. Anyone else think of any improvements?

*VERY* Cool! Hope this game/simulation lives up to expectations - it will take something special to get me away from GPL so here's hoping!
GP3 realistic? Nah, check out GPL mate. Nothing like racing 18 other guys online on classic circuits! Not to mention it has a very accurate representation of the old Nordschleife (great learning tool for you guys taking a trip to the 'Ring)...
The only bad thing is if WSC is that good I am going to be forced to buy a new PC to run it properly...

Nito - LOL (alot)
Andy330
Revised version:
if car=subaru
{top mota}
then change to (cossie dagenham dustbin)
game.over();
I believe this is correct.

Simon,
Good on ya, even if it is a Scooby!!
One thing though mate, they have obviously more work to do on the driver modelling. It's not a bad likeness to you, but it only has one chin!!!!!!!
Shaun.

Simon,
Did they give you an indication on when the game would be out ?
I agree with whoever about GPL being the benchmark racer on the PC - it nails GP3.
I'd put Rally Masters second too. (not many have played it, but its great)
