Default Quick Steering: Perrin Super Steer

Anyone tried these?

Looks like a cut price alternative to installing a quicker rack...

Should work ok, but I wonder how insurers will see it?

Clever idea - putting the trackrod closer to the hub centre. Buts its going to make it twitchy: I would expect a quick rack to be a variable rack and pinion to prevent twitchyness near the centre position . Although they could be just a uniformed pitched racks, so would be no better.

Also be sure to use plenty of anti-seize compound on the track rod threads...aluminium trackrod ends + steel trackrods = big problems in the future next time the tracking needs adjusting.

Indeed, fitting a genuine Subaru 13:1 would probably be easier from that point of view.

The perrin system is really quite a lot cheaper though.

I think the whole idea is to make it more "twitchy" i.e. responsive around the centre, some would say the standard (type uk) STI is a bit vague around the middle.

I don't think the Group N or JDM 13:1 racks are variable rate...

From my experience having many perrin parts over the years imho their parts are of the highest quality. I love the idea of this new part and would give it a go.
