Sorry to butt in here - sounds like a phone call would not have gone amiss here - from my own POV i ALWAYS follow up with a call if i have not had a reply as much as i put my faith in e-mail nothin quite like a conversation to leave you knowing exactly where you stand.

Hmmmmmm...it looks like this is just one of the reasons why sometimes it's better to buy a complete 'official' kit. At least then you know everything fits together properly.

As I started a group buy discussion about Godspeed a few weeks ago I think it is only fair to warn you about 'them/it'. I sent a cheque for £1010 which was promptly cashed but I have failed to get my kit on no less than 4 seperate delivery dates - each date came and went without any correspondance. The deadline for receiving the parts was Saturday gone and told them that after that the bits will be no use to me. I asked for a cheque or parts by that date - nothing, not even a call or e-mail. The phone there is never answered and e-mails get ignored. Seems that customer service is taking a tumble in all areas and really is not acceptable. I shall start to retrieve my money somehow. I have had a few e-mails from people in a similar position (1 guy has heard nothing for 8 weeks!!!!!) and would be interested in anyone elses experience. Missed delivery dates and ignored phone messages/e-mails is appauling behaviour. I will keep you posted.

Iain , When you first contacted me I gave you a delivery time scale of approx 7 - 10 days , I told you I do not keep these Brembo calipers in stock and I would have to order them from Italy , I recieved a cheque from you on the 17th March , it was banked on 19th March , your calipers were ordered the same day , I received your calipers on the 30th March , the brackets were made over the weekend and the kit has been sent , I have sent you 6 emails informing you of progress , I have not given you 4 delivery dates , I was told by my supplier that he was hoping to get he calipers earlier in the week and that's what I told you , I cannot be held responsible if they didn't turn up till friday , I will send you delivery details so you can check yourself , Ian

so where the hell was your call/note letting me know?! I not a friggin mind reader! I already asked for the kit or my money back by Saturday. I would really like my money back now as I won't be able to fit the kit for a while. You say you have sent them? When and how? Thanks for the call as well that you promised me on Friday.

Iain , I sent you a email friday explaining the calipers I had were different from the last ones I ordered , to try and speed things up I made brackets for you over a week ago , The calipers I had delivered would not fit my brackets which is why the kit was not sent friday , I had to make new brackets over the weekend , The parcel has been sent with Securicor and the parcel number is 02057675244/8 , Ian

I'm a great believer in phone calls but hard to have a conversation when the phone you ring NEVER gets answered

Iain, I think your a very brave soldier for opening yourself up for public abuse on this
Let's just hope you have learnt your lesson and will never look into cheaper deals ANYWHERE ! Pay the Premium OR pay the Penalty.
You should've known by now that you can't go round looking for group deals out of the goodness of your heart to aiding others...AND THEN GET WELL AND TRUELLY SLAPPED FOR IT ! ! !

Cheers, Jacko

Hello everybody,

I am the guy that waited 8 weeks, but I had news from Ian, let me tell my story:

I ordered and payed two brake kits the 01.02.01. As I am from Switzerland I knew that there would be some time to count in for the delivery.

The 07.02.01 Ian Godney wrote me the following: "We will have the two kits finished in a couple of days and then
they will be sent to you , Thank you , Ian".

The 22.02.01 Ian wrote the following: "Hi Ric , Your kit's will be finished tomorrow , the Astra kit is finished
but we have a small amount of work to finish your Subaru kit , They look very good , I think they will take 3 to 5 days for delivery".

The 09.03.01 Ian wrote the following: "THE BRAKES ARE FINISHED AND ON THERE WAY TO YOU , YOU
SHOULD GET THEM VERY SOON".

The 28.03.01 Ian wrote the following: "I WILL CONTACT THE DELIVERY COMPANY TO FIND OUT WHY YOU HAVEN'T HAD THEM YET
, I WILL CONTACT YOU AS SOON AS I KNOW".

...so thats the last email I had from him. He is really a nice guy I think, but I am waiting for more than 2 months now without brakes. So please Ian contact me as soon as possible. I contacted my credit card company who will refund my money if the brakes don't arrive till this Tuesday.

My situation now is without brakes. I am not happy, Ian, let me tell you this one thing of Marketing (I am studying this topic at University): The worst thing a company can do is if the parts he wants to buy or bought are not available, this will harm your image. (I think this thread on this board already cost you a lot of customers.....).

greetings and sorry Ian for posting your email answers!

ric from Switzerland .... an enthusiast Scooby driver without brakes...... :-(

PS I am 100% sure the brakes would work GREAT on my car!

Ric.
Being sure they'll work great won't make your car stop any better though!

In my opinion there is too much of this type of thing on scoobynet at present.

Obvioulsy it is good that we are all informed when there is a serious reason that we should not use a supplier, but it seems that most of these threads turn out to prove that it was all a fairly reasonable every day problem that could have been easily sorted out with a phone call.

We relaxed our strong views on this kind of thread a few weeks back to see if it could run without doing any harm, but too many people have exploited this situation and it is doing ScoobyNet and our community no good at all.

I must stress... I hate people being short changed or treated badly, but there are many threads that are popping up that are not this, they are just every day mistakes, or mis-understandings.

But in the mean time, the company involved is seen to be incompetent, etc.

I must ask that from now on, we all think a little more carefully about whether the level of potential damage we are going to do to a company with one of these posts is really waranted?

I am NOT refering to this thread in particular and have copied this post into each of the posts that I am now closing. I am closing all similar posts so that there is no "well why was this one closed, and not that one". It is a shame for the people with valid complaints, but it has gotten a little out of .

I would respectfully ask that we don't now start a "freedom of speech" thread as we will not be closing threads just for the sake of it, but will encouraging people only to post a complaint if it will really do some good and they have tried everything else.

Very best regards

webmaster
