Default just changed my td04 for a vf34.. any checks i need to make before i start her up?

As above just put a vf34 on my 2003 wrx..

During the removal of the old turbo I lost a lot of coolant.. So other than topping this up what other things shall I check before its started up?

I know I need a remap now but the cars not being driven untill then!

Thanks jamie

Make sure all clips/clamps are done up nice and tight (water-oil-intercooler etc).
Leave the coolant tank lid off once you've started it and top up if nessasary.
Feel for any air leaks around the up-pipe/downpipe while it's cold enough to get your hand in.

Yes. I have fitted a sti tmic.. And my local garage is doing injectors, fuel pump and boost solenoid. Also an uppipe.

Do I need 550 injectors on 2003 wrx? I'm hoping to get between 320-350

What are standerd wrx injectors?

Yeah! I've been thinking about that! Mines going to powerstation only like a 10-15 minute drive but I'm not sure weather to drive it! I have a mate with a flat bed transit! So may ask him

Just drive it off boost, the DENSO ECU can cope easy........Bob Rawle is almost the other end of the country from me.

Save loading / unloading / scratches etc.

I wouldn't drive it after changing injectors for fear of bore washing the engine with the extra fuel.

Off boost / light throttle the ECU will be trimming fuel on the fly looking for stoich so should be OK .........

running a little rich is far better than running lean, just go steady as said and you will be fine, i did my own injectors and had to use the car and it was ok

unplug the crank sensor and turn the engine over with the oil feed disconnected.

I swapped a vf35 recently and it got oil starved after 100 miles as there was some crap in the oil feed line. Takes 2 minutes to check but I forgot so I had to bin a £250 turbo and get another.

put a rag around the banjo end and get someone to check it as you turn the engine over.

Did over 100 miles with a different turbo, injectors and intercooler on standard ecu without any problems. Drove off boost to meet jgm for the mapping.
