it could also be the emergency they are going to?

I am sure if you rang 999 you would want the Police/Amb/Fire to get there as quick as possible and not slow down to 20mph for speed bumps!

Some of the speed bumps are actually better in a car like to hit a bit faster

I always find the faster I go, the less severe the bump feels, there useless!

you get to learn which speed bumps can be hit at speed.. most of the ones that you can straddle barely need a second thought and a lot of the table top ones throw you around a bit but barely register for the car

we dont go around trying to break cars

never seen police interceptors, they got a shop full of decent mechs, cars broke, 24hrs later, cars fixed.

fair play though,70-80 hitting a speed bump, even rally drivers hit the brake at the brow of a crest to ensure not too much air lol

Dunno about you guys but my classic hates speed bumps! I go about 5 mph over the flat top ones and less over the little ones! Feels like the engine is going to fall out if I go any faster. The chassis is sooo rigid!

Not sure about that Dan but
I was driving back from the piston heads meet round the M25
Doing mid to high 70s in a line of traffic
All of a sudden there is a single driver dog mondeo in the rear view mirror
He was about 5m back with no blues and 2s on
Jackie asked me to pull over which I did when safe
Then the driver did the same to the next car in the line
He panicked and braked, then pulled over as did the rest
I pulled out behind the copper and followed at a safe distance with my speedo showing 85mph, I assumed that we were not speeding as the police cars have calibrated speedo's and as he had no b&2's on he was not on a call.
He later slowed to 60mph and I passed him now doing 70mph to see him checking me out on his radio
He followed me to the next junction where I pulled off and got stuck at lights
He told my wife to lower the window and asked me if I knew the speed limit for motorways
I asked if he knew the stopping distance at that speed
He claimed to be on a call and that he doesn't need his lights or sirens on for this, is this true and I have been miss informed
Or was he just the **** I thought he was?

He is not correct. You do not need blues and twos on to attend an incident. It al depends on road conditions, traffic, speed travelled and is the use of blues and 2s are going to be to your advantage or other road users.

Obviously you dont have to drive around everywhere with blues & twos to get to places. But if your gona drive around at 85mph in a 70mph zone or e.g going fast in built up areas above the speed limit you should have your lights & sirens on then.

Thats what I thought Ricky
If plod don't have B or 2s on how do we know they are approaching us at a speed we are not used to
That said how can we allow for our reactions
Hence why I said it would be dangerous

I was in Jackies car mate
Otherwise we would have oil slicked him on the anti lag

He even had the front to say
"I know you are driving a flash car fella"
What a ****

speed bumps are for poor people.

Ever seen a rich person driving a range rover go slow over a speed bump? me neither.
