Default Classic STi's Under £3k?

Well I'm feeling the scooby itch again after being away for a few months. had a lovely PPP Classic at 250bhp before but looking for a step up this time for a classic STi. Now I'm not bothered what version the car is thou for my budget it will prob be an early one. The same goes for either estate or saloon, thou the estates seem to me better priced, so my question is it poss to get a nice STI for about or even under 3 G's?

There were 2 last week on the auto trader site.
One was £2995 and the other was I think £2795.
I've been looking round for a mate of mine as he can only afford around £2500.At that price though I doubt you'll get a minter.
But you never know. There might be a bargain lurking somewhere.

Danny.

Actually I just searched the auto trader and at the moment there is quite a lot of sti's there for under 3.
There's even a White RA version 3 for £2500.

I have a v3 sti wagon, tidy standard looking car with hks exhaust, de-cat, tomei fpr, walbro pump, simota panel filter and I have an apexi power fc for it but it needs re-mapping, It has just run out of mot but I have the original cat for it and it drives like new, taxed til end of november, runs perfectly but as I said it does need a remap to be safe, It has fsh and all mot's since it was imported in 2001, Pm me if your interested, I'm selling very cheap due to needing quick sale

God these cars are getting cheap now. Didn't realize the market had got quite this bad, what a lot of fun you can buy now for under 3K.
