Default Have I paid too much?

It's been 3 years since I sold my classic wrx and I've missed the smile it put on my face so I've just bought a hawkeye WRX and collect it on Friday but I'm now beginning to think I may have paid too much after hearing I could have got an STI for the same money,

Here is the car I bought

Thought as much, but the 24000 miles and mint condition swung me, saying that I am off loading a problem car onto them.

Nikao, this is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much! I have just bought a 55 plate WRX blobeye (2ltr with same spec interior as this) and it cost me £5.1k with FSSH on 60k miles with prodrive pack. Before deciding on my car i debated over a 56 plate 2.5 hawkeye WRX, nice motor but the tax was almost double the 2ltr and the paint seemed ALOT thinner (I know Scoobs aren't known for their thick paint coverage)...anyway, it was up for £5.7k with around 56k miles FSH - he had it in the garage for 6 weeks and was desperate to do a deal for £5.5k. If you look around you can pick a hawkeye WRX up with low mileage for around £5.5k-6k if you spend a serious amount of time and money/miles searching and viewing like i did. I looked at 7 cars before deciding on mine, so yeah i'd defintely say you could easily get an STI for this kind of cash!

And if you are worried about offloading a "problem car" onto them, take it to webuyancar and see what they offer you (my mrs sold her 08 plate KA to them and got more money than any trade in price we were offered)....and another thing, if a dealer has said these words to me "problem car"...i'd walk away as he sounds like he's giving you less than he should for yours and to make it worse he's pulling your eyes out on the price of the scoobs. Go on parkers guide for price guides my friend.

Yep as pointed out already you paid much but at the end off the day mate if you are happy with it then great thats what matters, went thru the same thing myself a few months ago when buying my own first blobeye wrx scooby, everyone saying dont pay that you can get an sti for that money etc but looked at so many at what seemed like bargains only to find the majority had all the little stories attached to them.

ended up getting a 55 plate wrx - 2 owners fsh and with only 31k on the clock with a few quality mods and a folder full off receipts for 6k and more than happy with it.

enjoy it mate, looks a nice car, again you paid over the odds but you will always here stories off you could have got this or that for 0000` cheaper- trust me they are not always the bargain they first appear and the money u could have saved may have had to be spent on some costly repairs so please dont beat yourself up on what you have paid for it mate !!

Wise words. Looking at the garage and the car both seem mint. Coupled with the bonus of being able to offload a problem car I wouldn't get too hung up over what you've paid.

Well i've stuck with the deal and got 2 years full parts and labour warranty + RAC cover and got rid of a car that really has been giving me some serious problems , which i might add the dealer doesnt know about.

I've seen some of the cars on ebay and pistonheads but the problem tends to be that most seem to be ragged to crap and have no warranty and i would have had to sell my car to some poor sod.

Just cant wait to get behind the wheel at 5pm lol

once you get behind the wheel you wil forget about the money you have paid for it plus you have 2 years parts and labour covered mate, so not a bad deal after all and you got rid of your old car as well.

good luck im sure you will enjoy and get some pictures up.

Have you paid all the money over?

Any chance you can pull out the deal? Might have to lose the deposit - assuming it wasn't a large amount?

Totally agree, your warranty is only around £150 a year for full cover (if you even have that from then) so its hardly worth the extra few k you've paid....but I guess as many have said, if you are happy then thats all that counts....even if you did pay WAAYYYY too much.

Dont worry about the price now that you have bought the car.

If your happy and you had the money to spend then just enjoy it, no good thinking about it now!

Buying a good car with a dealer will always attract a premium, they usually have some included for the px as well, you need to look at the price you paid on top of your own car to work out how good or bad the deal was but if you got a good car and are happy then no problem
